After 15 years of experience in other fields, I became a Criminal Investigator. Working with various internal and external partners; plan, coordinate, and/or conduct complex criminal, civil, and administrative investigations for suspected violations of HHS programs. Primarily, allegations of fraud against the Medicare and Medicaid programs. All investigations are individually unique due to the various types of providers billing services to our millions of beneficiaries.

Miami

Analyzed Medicare and Medicaid providers billing for services in programs with vulnerabilities. Once a provider is selected, an examination is conducted of their universe of claims to determine a population most at risk for billing errors to select a random sample. Reviewed supporting medical records to determine if select claims were submitted in compliance with applicable Medicare or Medicaid regulations, and National or Local Coverage Determinations. Verified credentials, accreditation and licenses, conduct interviews, and review providers compliance programs.

In a produce distribution facility with a warehouse team of twenty-two and support staff of four, was responsible for the life-cycle of our inventory. Additionally, performed various internal audits and was responsible for high profile payable accounts and high risk receivable accounts.

I provided support to his team while learning the basics of accounting (AR, AP, Payroll, Tax, Reconciliation, Audit, and A=L+E).
