I'm a marketing, content, and communications consultant who advises clients on overall strategy and thought leadership in addition to sleeves-rolled-up work such as digital marketing, blog content, and corporate communications. Much of my clientele is in the area of science—academia, non-profit, or for-profit such as pharma, biotech, healthtech—and I love this work because I believe scientists are the most important disruptors of our time. I like to say "Scientists are the new celebrities" and I want to help them tell their stories and convey the WHY behind their work. In working with them more and more, I also say this with even more conviction: Scientists are real-life superheroes.I'm self-motivated and unflappable in tense situations. I'm excellent at getting people to get along—give me a siloed organization where teams barely talk to each other, and within a few months, I'll have them brainstorming together to benefit the business. I also excel at mentoring younger talent as I believe in supporting them so they can grow in their expertise and self-confidence. It pays off for them and for me.The values/culture I look for in a client/company: 1. Leaders who understand that their role is to set and communicate a clear vision and to provide support so team members can do great work towards realizing that vision.2. Leaders who know that great ideas can come from team members at any level, regardless of their title, and there is time/space provided periodically for leadership to entertain these ideas. 3. Leaders who encourage employees to own their work and take calculated risks, which results in a team of motivated, satisfied employees—and most likely, better business outcomes.
