CurrentThe vision for BETA Intenational is to improve healthcare in underserved populations worldwide, through improved availability, maintenance, and repair of hospital and clinical equipment, and by furnishing trained BMET staff to educate and support medical personnel in technical needs. Successful projects include facilitating "Electrical and Biomedical Engineering" Bachelors Degree and 3-year Ordinary Dipoma programs at Arusha Technical College, Arusha, Tanzania (150 diploma grads, 18 BEng grads, enrollment 300+), and supporting Project Medishare with volunteer BMET services and training at Hospital Bernard Mevs in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. BETA was incorporated in Salem, Oregon on December 13, 2012, as a nonprofit public benefit corporation, and has received 501c3 status retroactive to this date. BETA qualifies for tax-deductible contributions under Section 170 of IRC, including in-kind functional equipment donations, and has a Bronze rating from Guidestar.org.
