The Marshall Project is a nonprofit news organization that focuses on the American criminal justice system. Our mission is to create and sustain a sense of urgency about criminal justice in America. We aim at all times for accuracy, fairness, and impartiality. Our repertoire includes deep investigative projects, narratives and profiles that put a human face on criminal justice, explanatory and contextual pieces, along with guest commentary and voices from inside the system. And we partner with a diverse array of media organizations to amplify our message.

Wrote and reported long-form and narrative stories about a wide range of subjects—most commonly the criminal justice system and public heath, particularly addiction and HIV/AIDS. Stories appeared in the American Prospect, the Boston Review, Mother Jones, the New York Times, and elsewhere.

Providence, Rhode Island Area

Worked as an outreach worker, educator, and research assistant at a hepatitis C/HIV coinfection clinic. Educated patients on hep C treatment (in the "bad old days" of interferon and ribavirin); ran a support group for people living with HIV considering, or undergoing, hep C treatment; helped develop care plans and visited patients at home to support them through treatment; acted as liaison between patients, families, and hep C treatment team. Administered hepatitis B vaccination program at the Adult Correctional Institute. Did research and writing on hep C treatment, addiction, overdose, incarceration, and other issues affecting our patient population.
