My fascination with science began around age 3 when my mother would read books about the body to me. I even slept with her college biology text book because I believed I’d better understand the material doing so. Fifteen years later, my passion has not weaned. From participating in my first science fair in the 5th grade to conducting research throughout high school with my mentor at Argonne National Laboratory, I continue to learn and appreciate the scientific process. However, there is more to life than scholastic pursuits. When I’m not studying, I enjoy watching television (I'm a HUGE Seth MacFarlane fan), gymnastics, rock climbing, baking, and mentoring. My academic goal as a high school senior is to find the perfect university in pursuing a degree in biochemistry while continuing research; but, personally I want to remain physically active, meet new people and continue to influence others to appreciate science the way I do.
