Gerald is a licensed professional engineer with over 25 years of experience. He is an experienced entreprenuer, having worked in tech startups to consulting. He is currently the co-founder and CTO at Hyperion Sensors, a Toronto based startup providing leading edge fiber optic sensing solutions for high voltage assets in the electric utility industry.Holding an MASc in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering from University of Toronto, as well as Project Management training from Colorado State University, he has a wide array of research, engineering, software and technical writing skills. Gerald is a co-inventor on several patents on fiber optic sensing and instrumentation, having been part of a team developing a ground breaking new fiber optic sensing system. In the past, he has worked with the Canadian, US (NASA) and European Space agencies working on advanced materials and space structures. He has developed manuals and procedures for training and instrumentation, conducted training sessions and seminars on varied topics including software, monitoring and instrumentation and change management and international collaborative projects.As an independent technology consultant, he has worked with small-to-medium sized industrial organizations, offering services specializing in Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR+ED) Tax Credit advisory services, as well as Corporate Strategy and Organizational advisory services.
