Current• Leads complex network outage investigation teams to determine the causes of major regional and nationwide network outages, whether Commission rules were violated, and how to prevent similar outages in the future. • Advises the Bureau and drafts policies regarding network resiliency, hardening, and 911 availability.• Drafts and interprets regulations in rulemaking proceedings, public notices, and orders adopting final rules.• Collaborates closely with engineers and industry representatives to investigate and report wireless network outages, including those that affect 911 calls.• Acts as Division Subject Matter Expert for submarine cable outage reporting, investigations, and rules.• Serves as mentor to law student interns, Honors Attorneys, and other new employees.• Interprets and responds to Freedom of Information Act requests for Division and Bureau management.• Manages the Division’s Office of Management and Budget approval process to facilitate rule publication in the Code of Federal Regulations.
