When I was younger, I was always around animals. After witnessing my first equine nasogastric intubation, I decided at the ripe old age of 8 that I wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.As a current undergraduate student at UBC, I am double majoring in Applied Biologyand Biomedical Engineering while starting to complete a Masters of Management.As I become more involved in the appropriate veterinary and patient care communities, I have noticed the significant gap in preventive and rehabilitative care for equines. With this demand for innovation, I intend to develop a company dedicated to developing science-backed, non-surgical equipment to improve sport horse health and welfare. As William Brody has outlined, "knowledge drives innovation".
