Running on 256 cores and 512GB of RAM, the relational database maintained tens of billions of fact records comprising of over 50 TB of compressed relational data. The analytical (OLAP) database was highly performant at the cost of increased storage, and reached 14 TB in size. Slicing members were used to define and query non-overlapping fact partitions containing distinct granularities of data. This allowed for pivoting of billions of fact records across more than 10 dimensions in the sub 100 seconds range. Canned reports were generated on schedules and delivered to subscribed sales and marketing teams.Designed and built ETL and storage solution for managing the data of a type-2 customer dimension with fast data turnover, more than 30 million records, and over 350 columns. The design used in-memory tables, parallelized checksum processing, and partition switching to process millions of nightly changes while maintaining a complete history of all data.

The web application integrated with shipping carriers and used custom barcodes and scanners to allow personnel worldwide to easily track and manage expensive physical assets and the millions of dollars in proprietary data contained on those assets. -
