“I put people first, AND we are all people first, before we are professionals.” This is the core belief that animates my leadership and drives my mission to prove that business can be done in healthy, accountable, and thoughtful ways. I also care deeply about creating things that matter and do good in the world. As CEO of Calico Energy, I’ve been able to put these fundamentals into practice while leading a successful new phase of growth and launching an enterprise product that will help to tackle the gnarly issue of climate change.I’m constitutionally incapable of walking away from a problem or need, which, over the course of 15+ years, has pulled me upstream from being a high school teacher through account management, product management, and ultimately to CEO.My multifaceted background helps me to look at problems and see perspectives that are often overlooked. I’m equally adept at operating at the forest and tree level, balancing strategy and tactics to get things done.I’ve earned a reputation as a “problem hunter” by repeatedly stepping into a void that needs filling and leveraging my ability as a systems thinker to define structure from ambiguity. I excel at going from zero to one. I see myself as a strategist playing multi-dimensional chess with people, markets, and products. I’ve performed market/competitive research, created product roadmaps, crafted marketing strategies, articulated clear visions, led change management, execution, and everything in between.I pride myself on my ability to earn trust from my team and develop us all. At my core, I’m a trained teacher and an empath, allowing me to instinctively individualize and meet people where they are, while also being able to motivate and inspire a group to meet goals. I’m as comfortable in a 1:1 meeting as I am speaking in front of 100 people. I Value:• People First: I will never lead an organization that sacrifices that value for any business outcome.• Doing Good: I must be engaged in mission-driven work that has a meaningful and positive impact.• Being Brave: Asking the hard questions, being able to say “I don’t know,” calling out bias, standing up for someone, and being accountable to myself and others. I’m fortunate to be in a position to live out these values through my current work tackling one of the largest contributors to carbon emissions globally - the building sector - and participating in the fight against climate change. If you are similarly aligned, let’s connect to discuss partnerships and ways to amplify our collective impact!
