I conducted research and analysis related to financial services policy proposals and federal congressional hearings. It was my responsibility to monitor and track legislation on, and congressional support for, financial services issues. I also drafted press releases and policy memos conveying the impact of financial industry decisions on American communities to achieve maximum strategic outreach and stakeholder engagement.

I evaluated volunteerism activities, grants, and community development loans to determine if those activities were consistent with CRA guidelines. I co-led a collaborative team through proactive changes to internal processes, reporting, and systems in connection with the June 2020 Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). I reviewed and provided comments on Notices of Proposed Rulemaking on CRA regulations. I also had the opportunity to serve on an internal Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIB) pod with a focus on creating opportunities and providing resources to increase DIB knowledge among team members.

I oversaw compliance portfolio as required by Treasury Department, consistent with the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund’s New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program. I prepared and presented materials for the Capital One Community Renewal Fund’s Advisory Board to fuel strategic community investment. I managed evaluation and selection of vendors to prepare community impact reports tracking the effects of NMTC projects on low-income communities and low-income persons. This role required working closely with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with NMTC program requirements, as well as ensuring effective and efficient deal processes. I maintained comprehensive file documentation for 150 current transactions representing an investment portfolio of more than $1.86 billion.

I provided support for the team's Grant Administrator, as well as multiple Loan Officers by acquiring necessary conditions to ensure successful loan processing and external grant review and approval. I was responsible for reviewing disclosure packages to ensure compliance with federal law. I managed a pipeline report which tracked all loans in various stages of approval. I liaised with internal and external stakeholders with a focus on streamlining internal processes and identifying solutions to obstacles. I became a certified SCRUM Master while in this role.
