Scott McKnight grew up in southern Indiana and joined the Navy, out of Louisville, KY, in March of 2001. His first sea duty was onboard USS Key West in 2002, where he supported the Global War on Terrorism and Operation Iraqi Freedom, during WESTPAC 2003. After his first tour, he attended Electronics Technician C-School in Groton, Connecticut. He returned to USS Key West, after C-School and conducted an EASTPAC, 3 RIMPACs, and a dry-docking. Scott McKnight transferred to the COMSUBPAC BCA watchfloor, as technical support and communications operations supervisor, in 2008. In 2011, he started his LPO tour on the USS Alaska Blue, where his unit was awarded, 3 Battle “E”, 3 Omaha Trophies, a Green “C” award, and the Battenberg Trophy. In 2016, he became the NSSC Kings Bay Security Manager. This is where he discovered his passion for becoming a Security Professional. In 2018, he received his Department of Defense Security Specialist certification (SFPC) from the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy (DUSN), during his early transfer to the USS Florida Gold.
