Until 6 years old, Joshua's mother and father spoke German only in the home. At the end of the Cold War, the family moved to Texas and exited military service to start a working cattle ranch. So, Joshua worked middle through high school years as a Texas rancher - fixing barbed wire fence, building river crossings and shootin’ cans. He is now a city boy and only says “y'all” in appropriately good company.
