The Off Leash Dog Park Advisory Council was a sub-committee of the Mecklenburg County Park Commission. I was hand picked to sit on this council by the Park Commission. Our role was to help plan, design, build, organize fund-raising and devise the rules of the new off leash dog parks being built by the Mecklenburg county Park & Rec Dept. We also were the ruling body when it came to grievances and rules violations. The council was phased out in 2007 when the Commission re-organized all of the Advisory Councils. Our area of responsiblity was rolled over into another larger group.
