I am managing a team of software developers that are building and maintaining the environmental testing industry's finest Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) We build systems for everything from analytical instrument interfacing, in depth numerical processing, client work order processing, laboratory work scheduling, through advanced data presentation and reporting.The systems we have created enable TestAmerica to manage work and produce products for our clients at a quality and efficiency unmatched by any of our competition.

Worked as part of a formal Project Management Organization (PMO) within TestAmerica. Managed a variety of projects using industry standard methodologies to improve operational efficiency within several business units within the company as well as systems deployment and implementation at individual laboratories.

Performed management of high volumes of large scale projects within the Information Technology department at TestAmerica. While I was the primary project manager for development projects, I was largely responsible for bringing the department average for on time projects from 10-20% annually to over 90%.

Managed several small teams of developers responsible for various aspects of the companies proprietary Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS.) Coordinated resources as necessary to manage team interoperability before finally integrating them into a single development group.Major projects were in laboratory efficiency, and rolling out our products to new facilities within the network.

Managed a software development group responsible for performing analytical instrument integration with a new in-house enterprise laboratory management software product we were developing. This involved working with several decades worth of computer technologies across many operating systems and networking systems. Did software design and programming to build these systems as well, and engineered large scale calculation engines to reduce all analytical data to standardized final products. My team was also responsible for the custom design and creation of reports and electronic deliverable formats for all of our customers.

Worked as a senior architect and core systems engineer for a brand new Laboratory Information Management System for Severn Trent Laboratories. (This company was formed as a merger between Quanterra Laboratories and Severn Trent, and required even more advanced management systems.)This system moved us to the Microsoft product world, including Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Forms based applications, all built on the C# / .NET programming environment.

With the merging of companies that created Quanterra Environmental Services, we switched to a in house system based on an IBM AS/400 platform. I led a team and did the core system programming to support all of the instrument interfacing needs of the system to transport and transform data from dozens of different vendors, systems, and networks.

Worked as a team leader to continue the development and deployment of our laboratory management systems. Managed all of the junior developers in the creation of a new relational database (Ingres) based system to bring our technologies forward.

Hired in to my first professional programming job to help create the first of several Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) that I have worked on in my career. This system was based on a network database on VAX/VMS operating systems and hardware. I was responsible for creating our client reports and electronic deliverables, as well as contributed to several other facets of the system we developed to manage the business.
