Profile bio

About Scott Allingham

I am a motivated Senior Manufacturing Engineer/Continuous Improvement Engineer, that utilizes my education from Penn State, Green Belt in Lean Manufacturing, and on the job training from the last 8 years as a Manufacturing Engineer to design new processes and improve existing processes. Currently I am a Senior Manufacturing Engineer with Galen Robotics in Baltimore Maryland. In my role as Senior Manufacturing Engineer, I am responsible for the development and implementation of an Intertek compliant Medical Device production facility. The Startup environment has allowed to develop strong problem solving skills with a focus on innovation. Galen Robotics has applied to the FDA for approval of our surgical assist robot and I am proud to have helped Galen reach this impressive goal. At my last position at Parker, I was the plant Continuous Improvement Engineer and lead or facilitated many events such as, VSM, SMED, CF, 3P, and LDM with many successful results meeting or exceeding our goals. As a Manufacturing Engineer, I lead several small teams such as Ergonomics, Cost Improvement, and 5 Why problem solving teams. Since our facility was a smaller facility for Parker, I had to take ownership over every aspect of my assigned projects and interact with people throughout our team, customers, and suppliers. This lead me to design and build simple to moderately complex machines, design tooling and fixtures, workstations, and process controls. Project management was a large aspect of this position and I utilized a gate system to track and manage my projects. An example of a medium sized project that I started and followed through to completion was the design, programming, and implementation of a UR collaborative robot that dispensed a high viscosity adhesive into hundreds of different sized sheet metal parts. This project was generated due to a large new customer order and our existing equipment wouldn't meet the new TAKT time. I enjoyed many aspects of my work at Parker, but I was especially proud of all the changes that I helped implement and drive to improve the culture, safety, and engagement. Please contact me if you are interested in an experienced and motivated Manufacturing Engineer.

Engineer Ll

Cleveland, Oh, Us

The Parker facility in Lancaster Pennsylvania is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of train filters. We manufacture filters for oil, lube, and air filtration for trains and related equipment. To maintain our leadership in train filter manufacturing, we utilized clean room environments and a high level of quality control. As an Engineer at this facility, I was responsible for the design, development, implementation of new processes and production lines. As the plant lead in Continuous Improvement engineering, I used the principles of Lean Manufacturing, Ergonomics, and Automation to improve our existing production lines. Project management was also a large component of my everyday work responsibilities and I was always using a Gant chart and gate system to monitor at least one large to medium sized project. Over the course of my employment at Parker, I designed and built many small to medium machines to improve existing and new processes. As a major stake holder in Lean and Safety, I was the leader in many small teams and helped create a vastly improved and more engaged work environment.
