As someone who grew up with a father who is to this day one of the most sought after carpenters in his city, a focus on quality work, diligence, and relationships was instilled in me early on. It was only natural I suppose that the life of an entrepreneur and a self-starter would become mine so many years later. Some may wonder how my three areas of focus: carpentry, landscape photography, and the non-profit world, relate. I see them as complementary. In each, relationships are central. The focus of CENA Construction is on the relationship I have with each client. So much so in fact, that I have maintained a 5-star rating, with no outstanding warranty callbacks. MayBell Developments was established as a vehicle to begin the work of relational restoration between the middle class in our city and the members of the poverty community. And, I have many positive relationships with dozens of previous photography workshop clients where my focus is on improving their creativity through a relationship with the landscape. So while people may see them as competing interests, I see everything through a relational lens. If I choose to put relationships first and work to serve other people, in whatever capacity, then I believe I am on the right course.
