Fire Protection Engineer in the Directorate for Engineering Sciences. Project manager for a project on proposed rulemaking of open-flame, alcohol burning, decorative appliances. Additional work includes failure analysis and hazard analysis of the fire safety of consumer products including, but not limited to LP-gas appliances, candles, and residential fire.
Lead fire extinguishing and flow control product engineer. Design, test, and optimize fire extinguishers and flow control devices. Empirically model performance based on testing. Work as part of a multi-functional IPT team with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, contract managers. Responsible for keeping project on schedule and on budget.
Technical lead for the integration of the fire protection system onto commercial airplanes. Manage project requirements and interface between the customer and the product engineers. Responsible for ensuring programs are on schedule, on budget, and meet the necessary certification requirements.
A lead engineer on a program to develop a new technology aerosol airplane powerplant fire suppression system. Directly responsible for the $1.25 M development of an analyzer system; $300 K small scale agent characterization test set up; the discharge characterization of the agent; and the thermal cycling modeling of the agent.
