Launched BMG’s music-related book publishing program, set up distribution, and oversaw all aspects of the operations of an independent book publisher hiding out in a multinational music company (including acquisition, development, editing, project management, rights clearance, licensing, graphic design, production, print coordination, etc.). Highlights include:• Editing authors such as Barney Hoskyns, Colin Escott, Andy Neill, Chris Morris, and Tony Fletcher, as well as artists, including Tom Petty, Elvis Costello, David Crosby, Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, Lars Ulrich of Metallica, Dave Mason, Loretta Lynn, Eddie Floyd, Rodney Crowell, Janis Ian, Marty Stuart, Dave Alvin, Chris Hillman, Dwight Yoakam, and hip-hop legend Nas.• Joining forces with BMG’s US and UK catalog recordings team to create deluxe tabletop books with the estates of BMG clients ranging from Hank Williams to Motörhead.• Acquiring, developing, and managing more than 30 titles, including a book of Jim Marshall’s Johnny Cash photos, a children’s book by Nas, a memoir by Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Wanda Jackson, the RPM series highlighting the history of record labels, and The Byrds: 1964-1967, a deluxe 400-page tabletop book by founders Roger McGuinn, Chris Hillman, and David Crosby.• Coordinating with sister company Penguin Random House to upstream titles for audio release.

Oversaw the West Coast mechanical licensing team within a growing department that spanned the Los Angeles, New York, and Nashville offices, while simultaneously launching several book titles for what would become BMG Books in 2018. Responsibilities included working with Universal, Sony, Warner Bros., and indie labels on licensing new album releases. Key was maintaining open communication with label reps, clients, managers, attorneys, and professionals ranging from assistants to high-profile artists.
