The construction job superintendent is like the conductor of a symphony orchestra. He must see that all elements are fitted together at the right time and sequence” (Diamant & Debo, 1988,p. 8). This construction conductor is responsible for the on - Time and within budget completion of construction projects. The superintendent plays a key role in the completion of the built environment. The phrase“built environment” refers to “the buildings, facilities, transportation systems, and other structures and spaces created for the purpose of providing convenient places for work, play, living, and human relatedactivities” (Simmons, 200)I am the Glue that Keeps All the Parts Together

As the Site Super I am responsible for coordination of all trades in completion of the New RIANG Flight Tower. Currently this project is at 70% complete. We look for Sub-completion this June.

My Responsibilities as a PM:This is only a partial ListCoordinates and supervises all construction activities. Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.Maintains construction schedule, identifies and solves problems. Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process. Understands the project plans, specifications and the Goal of the ProjectMaintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.Prepares, schedules and supervises completion of a final punch list.Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy. Maintains organized Records of all Construction documentsAscertain that trades are well qualified and are efficiently carrying out duties assigned. Properly layout a project, making certain that the proper grades are followed and the structures are accurately located. Review the job schedule and cost breakdown, resolving all differences of opinion with the Owner beginning of the job. See that permits, labor notices, safety rules and regulations, and E.E.O.is followed See that company and E.E.O. policies in employing minorities are complied with. See that the safety regulations are followed by company and trade crews. Maintain a high standard of quality control at all times. See that good housekeeping practices are observed and maintained trade partners. Keep the progress schedule current, review schedule status and job costs at least once each month. Insure that all change orders are properly executed and billed Assist inspectors Maintain good relationships with inspectors, architects, trade partners and other key people connected with the project.
