Provide comprehensive aviation management consulting and legal services to airports, aviation businesses, pilots, and investors. Provide due diligence and develop comprehensive strategies as well as the corresponding implementation plans for start-up companies or for established businesses, including business formation, mergers, realignments, sales, and dissolution. Provide advisory services to governing bodies, business owners, pilots, aircraft owners, and managers of airports in the preparation of contracts, lease negotiations, and purchase agreements. Provide comprehensive analysis of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations related to aircraft registration, and licensing requirements related to pilots, aviation schools, instructors, flying clubs, and airports. Confer with federal, state, or local government officials on development, interpretation, and revision of laws, rules, and regulations applicable to aviation. Independently perform special enforcement duties as a Marine Deputy, within established policies and procedures. Patrol and enforce State and Local laws on county waters. Investigate accidents and complaints and prepare written reports concerning all activities. Educate the public on safe boating practices, facilitate formal boating safety courses, and issue boating safety certificates upon successful completion. Maintain open communication with higher rank and follow all policies and procedures of the Sheriff''s Office, including the general policing philosophy of the Sheriff.

Senior Defense Counsel (Full time, not one weekend a month) of the Michigan Trial Defense Service (TDS) for the Michigan Army National Guard. TDS is an independent operating agency within the Michigan National Guard Judge Advocate General’s corps representing Soldiers facing court-martial, nonjudicial punishment, and administrative actions. Responsible for the administration and operations of the TDS including the supervision, development, and evaluation of defense counsel and paralegal NCOs. Maintain casefile accountability, assign cases, track case progress, build annual training calendar, build drill schedule, interface with TDS National Guard Bureau Office of the Chief, mentor/oversee paralegals, and observe and evaluate all administrative boards. Rater/supervisor for all assigned personnel.

Investigated, prosecuted, and defended those charged with crimes in the military, provided legal advice for Soldiers and Command Staff. Responsibilities covered a wide range of practices including military law, criminal prosecution, international law, and legal assistance, both in the U.S. and abroad.
