Through the course of my career I've worked in several different industries and gained invaluable experience in large ($1B) and small (<$10M) companies alike. It has expanded my horizons, but at the same time has shown me how much more I need to learn. My varied experiences have helped me become adept at managing different personalities as well as work styles. Everyone is different and should be treated as such. This, along with an understanding of HR laws, policies, and procedures has allowed me to take on HR Management responsibilities. I've found that I relate well to employees at all levels within a company, which helps to break down the wall many perceive between hourly and salaried employees.Skills such as problem solving, project management, knowing my way around a computer, and use of various types of ERP software have allowed me to take on IT management duties.Over the years I've gained the ability to read and understand CAD drawings and blueprints in various industries which has been a huge advantage in being able to understand what a company does. It makes communicating with project managers, engineers, and production staff much easier when you can speak their language.The experience I've gained has helped to develop the ability to see the big picture as well as fine details, which has been vital, especially as my responsibility has grown.
