For the past 11 years, I have been working in the pharmacy field, most recently as an instructor in adult education for Pharmacy Technicians. However, Pharmacy has been a means for me to attain my degree in Management of Information Systems (MIS), which is my passion. I am looking to transition into the I.T. field since obtaining my MIS degree and my Certification in CompTIA A+.Throughout my career, I have been able to quickly learn and adapt, leading to more responsibility and advancement opportunities. At Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, where I started out as a pharmacy technician, I was able to demonstrate my abilities, leading to multiple promotions and ultimately ending my tenure there as a manager. In my current position at Kaplan College, I transitioned seamlessly into the role of pharmacy technician instructor. I went from having no teaching experience to now being one of the most respected instructors in the pharmacy program. Over the past decade I have had the opportunity to coordinate multiple projects and develop organizational and communication skills. While at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare I managed a team of 15 in the successful conversion of an electronic, web-based maintenance and tracking system for all of our durable medical equipment. Currently, as an instructor for adult students ranging in age from 18 to 55, I coordinate a five month pharmacy technician program which rotates students on a monthly basis. Not only does this utilize my excellent communication and interpersonal skills, it requires special attention and problem solving to ensure that multiple students of all potentials and backgrounds are brought up to the same educational level to graduate.
