My 14 years of classroom teaching experience has allotted me many opportunities to share my expertise, knowledge and sense of fun with my community. I've taught students from kindergarten to 8th grade and facilitated many professional development opportunities for teachers. In the last few years, I have rediscovered my passion for cycling. An avid cyclist for the majority of my adult life; my fire was re-lit when I began to volunteer for Cascade Bicycle Club's Major Taylor Project, which helps students build a love of cycling by sponsoring after school riding programs. I have become obsessed with growing initiatives and programs that encourage active transportation in youth.Team Player• 100% Grant writing success rate• Proficient with current information technologies • Self-starter• Excellent written and verbal communication skillsRelationship Builder• Communication across all levels of an organization• Positive rapport with students and parents• Positive classroom climate• Supportive team player with a sense of fun and humorCommunity Involvement• Extensive volunteer work with Cascade Bicycle Club• Involvement with 2nd Cycle youth programs• Ride with Major TaylorInstructional Excellence• 10 years of classroom teaching experience• Facilitate and execute professional development• Focus on achievement in the classroom • Student-centered engaging teaching style• Drive to improve through professional development• Curriculum development• Experience in writing instructional documents outlining SOPs and how-tosBicycle Expertise• Implementation of Safe Routes to Schools Initiatives (Bethel School District)• League of American Bicyclists certified instructor (LCI)• Work with youth in biking summer camp• Coordination of community involvement• Management of large bicycle fleets• Avid Cyclist• Completed Seattle to Portland 10 times• Friend of the cycling community from Olympia to Seattle
