About Scott Bode

Throughout my career of 20 years, I have worked at the intersection of governance, agriculture, & environment, guiding the development and implementation of international development assistance programs/projects. With expertise in natural resource management, community forestry, and public/private partnerships, I have championed new approaches to sustainable agriculture, food security, natural resources, rural development, land rights, community forestry, biodiversity, climate change, and economics. Notably, I have been a driving force behind the development of policy frameworks, governance standards, partner engagement, staff development, new business development, and winning proposals for economic, social, and environmental considerations. Recently, at ACDI/VOCA, I have been instrumental in winning joint proposal efforts with the World Cocoa Foundation on Climate Smart Cocoa Agroforestry and with Green Power Technology on a new Energy for Agriculture Research Project in Africa. I also guided the USAID-funded FIFES project in Liberia and have been at the forefront of USAID's investments in community forestry in Liberia from the beginning. At USAID, I provided financial, technical, policy, and administrative support to field projects based in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Specifically, I designed and developed the $18M STEWARD Program encompassing natural resource management, biodiversity, and WASH components. Later, at Tetra Tech, I served as Natural Resource Management Advisor in Sierra Leone on the USAID-funded $13.2M PAGE Program. My strengths include the ability to link and leverage diverse resources, mobilize team synergy, influence policy at the national level, and cross sectoral boundaries to achieve shared objectives. I have worked in 27 countries across Africa, Asia, North America, and South America.

Listed skills include Natural Resource Management, International Development, Forestry, Sustainable Development, and 30 others.
