Experienced lawyer and manager, leading the legal and compliance function for Cigna’s global individual private medical insurance business worldwide, the international organisations business (intergovernmental and non- governmental organisations) and our Africa employer business. Responsible for worldwide legal, risk and compliance advice in all markets and managing a team of legal and compliance colleagues in Europe, Middle East and Asia. This includes our offerings in the US, Singapore, Hong Kong, EEA, Thailand, Lebanon, Dubai and our Dubai Financial Services Authority regulated business in the Dubai International Financial Centre “DIFC”. Member of the executive leadership committees of both businesses and executive Management Committee of our DIFC company. Extensive experience (25 years) of advising on legal, regulatory and commercial aspects of large scale corporate transactions and contractual matters both as an in-house lawyer and in private practice. Particular expertise in healthcare, financial services, international compliance and regulation, corporate, commercial, corporate governance, intellectual property and data protection, risk and international and cross border ventures. I spent 15 years in private practice working principally on M&A activity with an international aspect and have spent the last 10 years working in international financial services in both a legal and executive managerial role.
