I helped out coaching my son's football team. Had a great time and enjoyed teaching the sport I love to some great kids. They really absorbed what I was trying to teach them. It was quite different teaching 10 year old kids compared to 20 year old young men. A very rewarding challenge. I learned as much from them as they did from me.

For three years I coached the linebackers, kickers, punters, and coordinated the special teams and strength and conditioning at Morrisville State College. I recruited NY Sections 1, 2, and 9. The people at Morrisville were great and the school has taken many positive steps forward. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to coach so many outstanding young men.

I volunteered at Rocky Mount under Head Football Coach Dickie Schock. On Friday nights I was on the headset in the press box letting the coaches on the field know what was happening on offense, defense, and special teams. I also met with the staff on Sundays to break down opponent film and to game plan for the following week.

Responsible for team recruitment including: the creation of recruiting materials, scheduling visits, sending letter and other mailings, and developing relationships with high school coaches. I also served as the strength and conditioning coordinator for the football program. I advised the defensive football players in academic areas including: academic advising and course scheduling, graduation requirements, athletic eligibility, team grade checks, and I monitored team study hall and tutored the student-athletes as necessary. I also instructed the courses of Health, Intro to Parks & Recreation, Weight Training, and Crossroads a college success seminar for freshman.

I coached the wide receivers and tight ends, kickers, punters, holders, and long snappers. My academic coordinator responsibilities included class attendance checks, academic advising, tutor scheduling, monitoring football team study hall, and the generation/evaluation of team progress reports. The offensive personnel set or tied several school records in 2005 including career touchdown receptions, touchdown receptions in a game, passes attempted in a game, and passes completed in a game.

At RRCC I was responsible for the daily operations of the football program. I maintained the program budget, purchased equipment, and advised on facility development. I also established the "Adopt an Athlete" program to assist student-athletes from out of the area in getting to know the community members through visitations, home-cooked meals, and volunteering opportunities. I served on college committees and participated in faculty meetings for the development and improvement of the academic, campus, and student life experience. I coordinated team study hall and tutored student-athletes.

I coached the running backs, kickers, and punters. As the recruiting coordinator, I established the recruiting database and built positive relationships with local high school programs and several programs nationally. I also performed the duties of Sports Information Director including the design and creation of the football media guide, recruiting pamphlets, media and public relations info, statistics, and other printed materials. I participated in and organized fundraising and marketing activities to promote the football program. As an instructor, I taught the courses of Health Science and Tennis. I also provided the student-athletes with assistant in academic counseling and class scheduling, tutor scheduling, and monitored the football student-athletes academic progress.

Coached defensive backs and linebackers vs. the pass, special teams, and kickers/punters. I implemented the in-season strength and conditioning program. I developed our defensive game plan, organized defensive practices, and made defensive game decisions.

I was responsible for meeting course objectives, assigning/grading, taking attendance, and maintaining academic integrity.I also had two internship experiences:* Assistant to the Athletics Director at Kalamazoo Christian High School. I contacted officials, supervised sporting events, assisted with the Spring Sports Awards Banquet, and helped in the management of the athletic facilities and athletic events.* Sport Programs Coordinator for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kalamazoo. I arranged and supervised daily sport activities for the youth members, established a youth football program, organized a 3-on-3 basketball tournament and a youth soccer camp.
