Costs require the integration of cross functional systems. An object-oriented BI system was designed, developed, and implemented to allocate costs to specific equipment. This system became an automated monthly process. Results : This system allowed a data driven, cost based approach to set equipment rental prices and a margin based employee bonus incentive program.Business Intelligence cost containment reports for a major heavy equipment manufacturer.During the “great recession” this corporation provided directions to keep yearly manufacturing indirect purchases below 70% of the previous year. A BI reporting system was developed to track progress and highlight discrepancies.
