Working for accounts payable for Derbyshire County Council my roles included indexing invoices, sorting post and answering queries from vendors and internal Officers. I was required to check Construction Industry Scheme payments to ensure that Derbyshire has posted the correct amount of labour for HMRC purposes to the ledger. I have experience of using the Council’s SAP payments and ledger systems; I post standard SAP invoices and use SAP extensively to answer queries. I have also had experience of creating master data in SAP.I have significant experience of using IT software, including SAP. I use Microsoft Office daily; including Outlook for communicating both internally and externally and for updating meeting requests in my Calendar. I used Excel daily for spreadsheets to provide vendor paymentinformation and provide management information on vendor payments when requested. I have used Excel to create documentation that allows Departments to see the total expenditure of certain budgets for previous years and forecast estimates of predicted expenditure for the next financial year.I was often asked to do additional work within the AP section, such as covering certain jobs when colleagues were off work. This may include jobs that I wouldn’t normally do, this requires me to manage my time efficiently as not only did I have more jobs to do but I had to ensure that I had completed my own work as well. It required that I focused and prioritised my workload. I am confident in the work that I complete and I am happy to take on different duties as it improves my knowledge on the department and the Authority.
