The Regional Chief Geologist acts as the functional specialist for the critical geology processes of data acquisition, geological modeling and definition of targets. I provide geologic technical review, mentorship and support to programs crafted to discover, develop, evaluate and mine gold deposits in the region. My goal is to drive innovation and improve technical processes and systems to accelerate discoveries and reduce resource and reserve conversion costs.

Responsible for working with all of the Mineral Resource Management teams at Nevada Gold Mines (JV between Barrick and Newmont Goldcorp for all of their operating Nevada mines) to improve all of the geological models, drillhole and production databases and improve all aspects of the geological inputs to our geology models.

It is my goal to leverage the Nevada Gold Mines Newmont and Barrick Joint Venture's Mineral Resource Managers and their teams to generate the industry's best geological models through world class understanding of our ore systems and geology. As a team we will be moving forward to improve the way geological data is collected, stored and analyzed so that we will understand our Tier 1 assets better than anyone has been able to before. I worked on the Halo exploration team at Long Canyon exploring for the next extensions of the Long Canyon deposit. After this I worked towards developing world class integrated regional 3D geological models with the Phoenix and Twin Creeks geology teams.

In charge of exploration for the Mineral Ridge and Goldwedge properties in Nevada. Managed a small team of geologists, a geophysicist and geo techs to explore for near mine, and brownfields targets. Through process improvements I led a team that reduced exploration costs by 30% resulting in significantly more drilling for the same spend. Worked closely with mine manager and environmental team to conduct in-pit, near mine and extensional drill programs and begin permitting new discoveries.

I specialized in mapping, 3D modeling, GeoDatabase creation and maintenance, the integration of underground and surface geological mapping, downhole information, geophysics and geochemistry into robust, defensible models. I have planned and executed grade control, near mine and project generation exploration programs across broad lease packages on two continents. I have experience with multiple companies recognized for industry best practice as well as small junior companies with limited budgets.

While working for Sutter Gold Mining I managed a team of geologists and drillers to begin mining at a small 150 ton per day underground gold mine. I created a production geology database to facilitate mine to mill reconciliation, and reporting. I also created and maintained a grade control block model and maintained and improved the drillhole database. I presented information to VIP's and worked closely with our mining contractor for pre-production mining and planning efforts. I also interpreted and modeled vein, lithology and structures both at the stope and district scale.

I started Vulcan Lux to provide an updated mine light for the Koehler Wheat lamp. A lot of mines are looking to upgrade their electric cap lamps and are hesitant to discard their investment in the charging systems and lamps. My invention is a direct drop in replacement bulb that replaces the bulb, focus mechanism and reflector with two 225 lumen LEDs. This project was initially started to provide more lighting while mapping underground and has seen demand from miners looking for an updated light for underground use.

It was my goal to leverage my team's diverse skills and knowledge towards the next major discoveries at St Ives.Co-ran a two part team of 13 geologists in Project Generation and personally managed a team of 6 project and exploration geologists tasked with the next mine discovery of St Ives. My team accomplished a successful large scale gold discovery in a new exploration corridor potentially opening up a large amount of ground to new discovery. My team successfully managed a program to bring the deposit from initial discovery to inferred resource in under a year.

I successfully and safely ran a 4 person production team in a fast moving mine environment producing 2250 tons per day of ore from a variety of different ore zones.
