I set up and lead Material Focus, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping build a future in which materials are never wasted. With my team we launched and lead the UK's Recycle Your Electricals campaign, driving behaviour change and producing innovative research on all things e-waste. We're making it easier for over ten million people in the UK to repair, donate, and recycle their old electronics by funding and supporting new collection and drop-off points. In 2023, I was appointed to the Office for Environmental Protection's College of Experts.Before Material Focus, I established and managed the UK operations for the European Recycling Platform (ERP), ensuring environmental compliance for electronics, batteries, and packaging for hundreds of companies, including some of the world's largest tech giants. I then moved to lead on product and service innovation across Europe.Earlier, I led sustainability efforts for Samsung Electronics in the UK and Ireland during the introduction of the European WEEE and RoHS regulations.Before that, I served as the Associate Curator for Energy at the Science Museum in London, where I led groundbreaking sustainability projects. These included installing a solar PV roof at the Science Museum in London and setting up the first UK museum and galleries environmental forum that brought together the South Kensington and National Museums, National Galleries, Royal Parks, Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Geographical Society.I am a skilled public speaker, being a keynote, panel chair and panel member at numerous conferences. And I am a regular media contributor and commentator on circular economy, sustainability and e-waste issues.All of this is underpinned by a first-rate academic foundation with an MBA from Warwick Business School, an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and a BA in Geography and Management from the University of Leeds.
