Scott’s law practice focuses on the representation of buyers and sellers, borrowers and lenders in all aspects of real estate lending and real estate transactions, also including commercial loan workouts, mortgage loan restructurings, debtor and creditors’ rights litigation, bankruptcy practice and transactional work in loan documentation. Scott also represents buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants in commercial and investment real estate matters, and he represents buyers and sellers of commercial and residential real estate, including "short sale" transactions. In addition, Scott assists buyers and sellers of investment real estate with the formation, structuring and management of entities involved in real estate transactions and loans. Scott has coordinated loan restructurings and other transactions involving borrowers located across the country in numerous and diverse industries, including healthcare, real estate development and telecommunications. Formerly general counsel to a commercial lender, he also counsels lenders with respect to issues that arise under the Uniform Commercial Code, particularly under Articles 3, 4 and 9. In addition, Scott represents parties with respect to claims that arise under insured mortgages and other provisions of title insurance policies. Scott has regularly been recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyer in the areas of bankruptcy and loan workout litigation.
