Physical Therapist Assistant – Outpatient Orthopedic Sports Medicine
CurrentServe as a synergistic member of the healthcare delivery team in supporting the primary physical therapy provider to implement and execute an individualized plan of care through all phases of the patient's physical therapy process. Emphasize compassionate, ethical, and high-quality care by customizing a physical therapy regimen and restoring patients towards functionality/mobility improvement and pain reduction. Continually communicate with supervising therapists to provide updates on patient status and make treatment plan adjustments.Remain highly productive by averaging 75-90 patients seen weekly through multiple dimensions of impairments, functional limitations, and other physical disabilities.Complete direct physical therapy regimens according to the supervising physical therapist's direction and care plan.Assist patients through active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle re-education, gait/function training, and balance transfer activities.Communicate effectively with other care providers to provide continuity of care and minimize the fragmentation of patient services.Maintain necessary documents, clinical summaries, and conference notes within electronic health record software.Proficient in administering advanced manual techniques to include muscle energy technique (MET), Myofascial Release (MFR), and athletic injury management as a sport-certified specialist (SCS).Administer physical therapy interventions, including ultrasound, soft tissue massage, and electrical stimulation to improve strength, muscle tone, and range of motion.Actively participate in other clinical activities that supports patient care, staff education, and department operations.
