Principal Architect: Major Stations - Wilmington
CurrentScott Compton, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP is a Principal Architect supporting Amtrak's Stations Design Group based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Beginning in 2021, Scott Compton began leading projects in Wilmington, Delaware supporting the Northeast Corridor operations, security, and infrastructure. In Downtown Wilmington, Scott is planning the Unified Operations Center and King Street Renovation Projects. He is also working to develop the Employee Leaning Experience facility from conceptual programming, through site selection, looking to construct a state-of-the-art training facility for onboarding Amtrak’s future leaders.From 2019 to 2021, Scott worked with Amtrak's New York Properties Team on the iconic Moynihan Train Hall, managing the implementation of Amtrak's multi-story fit out of its Ticketing, APD security facilities, Back-of-House Stations Operation offices, and flagship Metropolitan Lounge as designed by FX Collaborative. Scott was also liaison with New York State's Empire State Development and the Related Companies as developers of the SOM designed Farley Post Office Renovation's adaptive reuse of Amtrak spaces and amenities. In New York City's Penn Station, Scott guided the progress of the Vertical Transportation Improvements project; the planning and fulfillment of the Foster + Partners designed 32nd & 7th Entrance Renewal with Vornado; and the expansion of the 33rd Street Concourse Project with the LIRR and AECOM.
