Led a team of three to build a new portal for clients to view the progress of candidates moving through the recruiting progress, and provide feedback on the candidates. NodeJS backend with a React NextJS frontend.Infrastructure improvements, such as log collection, pg_bouncer stats collection, and alerting for errors and performance issues.Role unfortunately cut short due to financial issues promoting the company to lay off a majority of staff.

Front and backend work on Intuit’s expert scheduling platform for scheduling tax and accounting experts. React frontend with Java Spring Boot and Go microservice backends. Redis and Postgres storage.Fixed long standing, severe, issues causing problems with retention of experts, such as race conditions causing their work schedules to be lost.Maintained and documented our team's microservices. These were largely Java services deployed using Docker and Kubernetes, but also had some Go services deployed as AWS lambdas.Help architect replacement system, largely motivated by desire to remove dependency on expensive third party software.

Created a new medical appointment reminder service to deliver email and SMS reminders using Java, Spring Boot, Postgres, and AWS servicesReplaced a legacy email service with a new service using Go and React to eliminate weekly manual email stepsCreated a set of event driven microservices using Java and Pulsar to allow front desk staff to handle web chats, SMS messages, and faxes.Helped set up some of the basic AWS services and continuous release process.

Frontend and backend call center functionality for web chat, SMS and Apple Business Chat. Implemented with an event driven system using Java Spring Boot, Kafka and Oracle.Helped migrate Live Agent chat system to a new queing system, and worked to improve performance and stability for larger customers.Part of effort to integrate the EdgeSpring acquisition by helping build a service to support the new BI platform. It managed the creation of data marts, and routed queries to them. Largely Go, with Redis being used for communication between services.Implemented much of the new reporting UI for Salesforce’s new Lightning interface, and a variety of new analytics front-end and back-end features.

Updates to core Java ad bidding and ad serving services to integrate with Mopub, AdapTV and SpotXchange ad exchanges.Implemented neatures for improving the quality and cost efficiency of ad serving.Created a C based memcached-like application to serve as an in-memory cache of user data for use in ad exchange bid decision making.

Worked with multi-site team to implement features such as Netconf, and Ethernet Service OAM on Force10's network elements.Scaled the Java Swing based user interface to support two magnitudes more network elements by reworking its caching model and supporting parallel network requests.Improved basic management server database object representation to greatly reduce garbage collection and persistence times.Eliminated large backlog of existing bugs in multiple products.

Primary maintainer of the Turin's Java Swing based network management graphical user interface.Reduced size of the user interface code by roughly 30%.Trained employees from new Shanghai office and wrote requirements for their initial projects.
