Work with individuals experiencing homelessness to help them access resources and services available to them so that they can overcome barriers preventing them from becoming self-sufficient.

Oversaw and managed a federally funded workforce development program for teens and young adults, with the goal of preparing them them to enter the workforce. This was accomplished by empowering young people through job readiness training, skills development opportunities, and supportive services that are critical to their future success.

Worked with homeless teens to help them find employment and pursue educational goals. In the short term, this meant helping them to enroll in school and find a job that would allow them to save money and move out of the shelter. It also entailed counseling young people on the importance of completing their education and the value and dignity of work.

Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy

Worked with students who were struggling academically, socially, or both to help them find ways to overcome their difficulties. This included communicating with their teachers and parents to gain a greater understanding of the challenges they faced and coming up with individualized ways of coping with their problems.

Matched 50 at-risk middle school students with an adult mentor and achieved the grant goals of increasing average GPA and decreasing the number of unexcused absences and disciplinary referrals.

Oversaw a caseload of 20-25 clients referred through the Department of Youth Corrections and Human Services for vocational training and life skills development.
