While in charge of STRAT-NOC, I spent countless hours mentoring and developing a team of IT Professionals into one of the most recognized and respected Operations entities in the DOD. My team of 42 highly motivated analysts were responsible for the 24x7 Operation of HQ USSTRATCOM networks encompassing multiple classifications that all relied on high availability for the National Mission. Overall, I was responsible for over $3M in IT assets to operate and defend the HQ network. My team was also responsible for onboarding all new network and defense technology, from inception and engineering, to fielding and operation.

While in Charge of the Operations of STRAT-NOC, I interfaced with multiple other departments and outside customers to ensure Operations readiness and customer service for HQ USSTRATCOM. I oversaw the upgrade of our Defense in Depth stack which in turn increased our Operational effectiveness. Not only was I the Operations Manager, I was the Subject Matter Expert for each tool that was used on the Operations Floor. As a result, our tool suite was tuned to become more effective and made me the “go to” person for briefing our senior leadership at USSTRATCOM. Through my PowerShell and VBscripting ability, my office was able to become more efficient for scanning vulnerable computers. This led to the cost savings of over $300K in lieu of an expensive enterprise tool.

Design, Procure, and Implement Network and Network Defense solutionsWhile working as a Cleared Defense Contractor (CDC) for CSC in the Network Operations office at HQ USSTRATCOM, I was part of a team responsible for operating and maintaining over 700 CISCO IOS and CatOS switches, as well as the Network VPN solution, Network Firewalls, and Network Encryption Devices. I was promoted early to become the Firewall SME and helped train other analysts on proper Firewall Operation, Firewall procedures, and Administration.
