Dynamic leader with strong business knowledge and highly technical background. Skilled with customer communication and fostering relationships, while focusing on delivery of strategic commitments. Equally comfortable presenting to C-level executives as with providing technical guidance and working with the team. I've been able to use my operations background to drive strategic business planning from a technical perspective, and have a passion for process improvement through Agile, DevOps, and Quality automation. My career started in the Purdue Research Park with small companies focused on rapid delivery and innovative ideas. I have not forgotten those tenets as my career has taken me into large corporation and Government spaces, and truly believe in the ability to work quickly within existing processes; while championing continuous improvement.

Senior Manager, Technology SolutionsTennessee Valley Authority Aug 2019 - Mar 2021Knoxville, Tn, UsI'm excited to be part of the IT of Tomorrow transformation at TVA! In this role, I am responsible for Strategy and Engagement with several business units, and the development of Capability roadmaps for various Business areas. Specifically: Commercial Transactions, Logistics, and Resource Management. This is a fun position to be in, as we re-think the way IT interacts with the business from start to finish. We will be developing agency-wide capability roadmaps to understand and mature the way technology is deployed around the company. Focusing especially on improving IT investment governance, shifting to a new delivery model and enabling the IT workforce to be able to shift holistically to a strategic mindset. -
Senior Manager - Technology DeliveryHawaiian Airlines May 2018 - Aug 2019Honolulu, Hawaii, UsI’m very excited to have started in a new role managing the IT needs of the Flight Operations division of Hawaiian Airlines. -
Senior Manager, Technology Solutions - Customer Engagement And DeliveryTennessee Valley Authority Feb 2017 - May 2018Knoxville, Tn, UsIn this role, I was primarily responsible for the IT relationship with three Strategic Business Units in TVA: Transmission and Power Supply, External Relations and Resource and River Management. This has built on my previous roles in Transmission, allowing me to use what I've learned about the power industry and Customer Service to really understand the portfolio needs between the three groups. My primary focus areas in this role are on Strategic portfolio planning for IT project work, Agile Execution and Quality programs to ensure that what we build is sustainable for the long-term. From a portfolio perspective, we have a little bit of everything: HTML5 Mobile solutions, a major Dynamics 365 initiative, custom responsive websites for Real-time Control Center operators, Load and Weather forecast systems, Vendor packages with custom integrations, Analytics efforts for predictive event detection, and many others.Executing this portfolio, I have been a champion for Agile development and a DevOps structure. TVA is growing in this area, and the Customer Engagement and Delivery teams are at the forefront. By delivering something tangible at the end of each sprint, we can be assured that the business and IT are building a package together that will accomplish objectives. We are implementing a process based on the SAFe model for Scaled Agile implementations, and building measures around sprint-delivery that ultimately accomplishes feature and project delivery. From a quality standpoint, I'm one of the champions for a quality program that is embedded in each of the Agile development teams, allowing quality to be baked in from requirements gathering through unit testing and finally User acceptance testing. I've found that as our budgets get tighter for O&M, the only way to build a sustainable platform is to ensure that the project work we execute is done right the first time so we can go on and not have costly maintenance down the line. -
Senior Services Manager, Transmission Operations SolutionsTennessee Valley Authority Feb 2014 - Feb 2017Knoxville, Tn, UsIn this role, I was liaison between IT and Transmission; responsible for both strategic partnership and tactical support for the application needs for TVA's Transmission and Power Supply group. Including System Operations, Right of Way and Meter Management, Transmission Construction and Maintenance, Telecom Control, Transmission Programs and Regulatory Compliance and Transmission Engineering. We are currently executing on 5 major initiatives (~$10M) varying from straight forward lifecycle projects to uplift applications to complicated re-thinks of business processes that span business units. The most fun part of this job is the people that I get to work with. On any given day, I am in the control center discussing reporting and analytics needs or coordinating between groups to figure out how to quickly bring in mobile devices for all of Transmission's field personnel. It is extremely fast-paced with a lot going on, and the fun part is finding the balance and helping the team to execute. I'm fortunate to have a great and high performing team of professionals, who truly love their job. -
Manager, Operations Applications Support ServicesTennessee Valley Authority Dec 2011 - Feb 2014Knoxville, Tn, UsIn this role at TVA, I was responsible for the oversight and execution of all Application Support related items in the Control Center. This includes applications related to Reliability Engineering, Transmission Operations, Resource and Balancing Operations, and Back office analytics. We were not responsible for the SCADA system, but rather, the downstream business decision applications and data feeds to the rest of TVA.This required a strong partnership with the Infrastructure Operations group as well in order to ensure that there was a constant feedback loop between the work that was happening in the Application space and the infrastructure space. One of the biggest challenges in this role was a wholesale switch of mindset from a one-developer to one-business organization to a on-call rotation based operation. With many new people coming into the group, we had challenges overcoming tribal knowledge gaps and needed to spread the support and after hours work to the entire group. This has lead to a streamlined application support process with multiple call out levels to ensure that the customer's applications work and get the attention they need 24x7. -
Programmer / AnalystZycron Oct 2010 - Dec 2011Brentwood, Tn, UsThis contract position to TVA provided me my introduction to the utility industry. I was working in a software engineering department embedded with the System Operations Control Center. I had the opportunity to work closely with the business to learn how they worked and what challenges they faced. This project was specifically around uplifting and modernizing the way that Transmission Outages were managed from the Control Center's perspective. This system was a success, and is currently still in use as a central location for all Outage Management and Planning from a system perspective (this includes Generation, Transmission and Telecom outages.) -
Program ManagerU.S. Xpress, Inc. Feb 2010 - Oct 2010Chattanooga, Tn, UsIn this role at USX, I was responsible for the successful implementation of the TMW system for the Dedicated and Brokerage lines of business. This was a $2M project, and was a great experience. We had a great team of both USX and Vendor engineers working together to do the analysis, configuration, integration and installation of the new Management system. -
Software Architect / DeveloperU.S. Xpress, Inc. 2006 - Feb 2010Chattanooga, Tn, UsAs a Software Engineer, I was responsible for their execution of strategic application development. I had the fortune to work on several fun projects in this role. Most notably, I worked as a software lead on a project to improve the mobile experience for USX's truck drivers. The product we built enabled the drivers to be active participants in the business process, using GPS tags and intelligent routing to help automate the business process (One great example was the ability to automatically start a timer in the back office systems that would allow USX to accurately bill any extra fees related to holding a driver at the location too long). We were able to build in features that would prompt the driver when they arrived at each location, which would tie in seamlessly with the back office and Fleet Manager systems so they were tied into the corporate process as well. I was fortunate enough to be named on the patent we filed for this technology. -
