CODA accredits predoctoral dental education programs, advanced dental education programs and allied dental education programs in the United States. The Commission also accredits predoctoral dental education programs internationally. The Commission functions independently and autonomously in matters of developing and approving accreditation standards, making accreditation decisions on educational programs and developing and approving procedures that are used in the accreditation process. It is structured to include an appropriate representation of the communities of interest.

The ABDS is an independent organization of member dental specialty boards with shared goals and standards related to the certification of dental specialists. The Member Boards consist of specialty examiners who are charged with the evaluation and certification of dental specialty candidates.

As the CEO and Founding Dean, I oversaw organizational growth, operational excellence, and strategic partnerships.Recruiting inaugural students, faculty, and senior leaders for a new dental school, we designed a state-of-the-art building, achieved accreditation, established a world-class Board of Visitors, and advanced these pivotal initiatives:►Procured tens of millions of dollars by fostering a philanthropic culture, cultivating donor relationships via a stewardship program and alumni network connections, defining and presenting compelling vision and mission statements to engage stakeholders and gain buy-in, and crafting a strategic fundraising plan.►Drove +100% network growth in two years by steering a de novo dental office expansion strategy, solidifying the top rank of the Piedmont triad for dental support organizations. ►Doubled revenue and led EBITDA boosts by leading the acquisition and integration of established dental practices and capitalizing on synergies and operational efficiencies.►Rescued operational costs and incited inpatient visit increases by centralizing human resources, marketing, and finance functions.►Spurred exponential brand awareness and new patient registrations by directing a marketing rebranding strategy in key geographies while improving patient acquisition costs.It was a privilege and an honor to work with this talented group of professionals to develop a dental school from inception to fruition. As a founding chair for a leading public university, I supervised fifty faculty and staff in strategic planning aligned with institutional goals and supervised recruitment, management, compensation, and faculty retention initiatives. Directing a multi-million-dollar budget and daily functions for The Center for Oral Medicine, I oversaw faculty performance and developed student and graduate scholar teaching programs.Under my tutelage, the team produced these once-in-a-lifetime results:►Benefited +1,000 veterans and homeless adults annually and raised health awareness by engaging the community in outreach programs and providing free oral cancer screenings.►Produced 100% in board pass rates for graduating students by designing and launching new curricula, revitalizing predoctoral programs, and introducing simulation-based training and interprofessional education.►Gained +65% in clinical volume by launching two new subspecialty clinics and leading a strategic operational excellence program to uncover and capitalize on key growth areas.Establishing a multidisciplinary clinic for oral and maxillofacial disorders and an integrated care model significantly enhanced patient satisfaction and improved disease signs and symptoms.
