The role with primarily focus on transport data network elements (cell site routers and other IP related transport elements etc.)

Areas of Responsibility:- Design network interconnects with PSTN, leased line and microwave facilities. - Review and determine potential points of interconnections providing cost benefit analysis. - Analyze U.S. Cellular’s network topology and compare with PSTN tariffs and/or products optimizing for cost and service levels provided to U.S. Cellular. - Analyze traffic patterns, toll costs, and network routing configurations to develop Least Cost Routing and direct changes to Switch Engineers as required. - Forecast facility requirements including interconnections, voice trunk, data circuitry and Base Station connectivity to support required capacity service margins. - Develop and maintain database of facilities assignments. - Develop Fundamental Plans for Major system integrations to support new market expansion or acquisition. - Perform network analysis and modeling to provide accurate customer usage forecasts. Manage network capital associated network facilities - Determine cost effectiveness of microwave or leased lines for new transport construction. - Develop and formally negotiate interconnection agreements with LECs and IXCs.
