In 2013, CPT Detweiler transferred home to the Vermont Army National Guard.CPT Detweiler participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom 09-11 in the Abu Ghraib and Taji districts of Iraq. In the fall of 2017 he served for 30 days in support of Hurricane Maria recovery operations in Puerto Rico.CPT Scott Detweiler has been assigned to the following units: B Battery, 1-101 FA (enlisted), A Battery 1-108th FA (enlisted/commissioned), attached to D Company 1-112th (Anti-Tank) (deployed), A Battery 1-108th FA, HHC, 86th IBCT (MTN), the Fire Support Officer for the 3rd of the 172nd Mountain Battalion and State Sexual Assault Response Coordinator for JFHQ-VT; he currently serves as Commander of the 172nd Public Affairs Detachment of 86th Troop Command. CPT Scott Detweiler’s military and civilian education includes the Basic Officer Leadership Course, 80 hour Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention Course (credentialed), Equal Opportunity Leader Course, the Army Basic Instructor Course, Small Group Instructor Training Course, and the Tactical Information Operations Planners Course. He has completed his Bachelor of Arts in Humanities with a Concentration in Literature and a Minor in Counseling as well as a Master’s of Science in Organizational Leadership with Norwich University. He recently completed his Captain’s Career Course for the Adjutant General Corps and Public Affairs Qualification Course. He will graduate from the Information Operations FA-30 course in November 2019.
