I have had the unique opportunity to work in a variety of settings which have allowed me to grow professionally and personally. My current school district has grown dramatically over the past 10 years and my position as a high school principal of grades 7-12 evolved into a 6-12 position four years ago. Due to more growth in our rural district, I have taken on a new role of developing a true middle school model with grades 5-8 under my leadership. This new opportunity has challenged me to look at the trends in education and leadership of personnel. The new model has also given me an opportunity to utilize my leadership skills in PBIS and building of healthy relationships within every part of our school. As a district, we take great pride in developing and instilling Husky (mascot) PRIDE (Perseverance, Respect/Responsibility, Integrity, Disciplined, Excellence) in all of our students and the day to day operations. I have been reminded through this move that kids are kids and that they just want to be invested in by people who care. It is amazing what great things that can be achieved through purposeful, intentional and healthy relationships.
