Staff Engineer (Note: Staff is a level up from Senior)Dec 2016 to Present: Moved back to Sustaining Engineering as diagnostics project consolidated back to Munich.April 2013 to Dec 2016: Transferred to Diagnostics Group to work with international team on new clinical automation system.a) Developed concept for custom aluminum and plastic extrusions to match the Industrial Design and to go along with a custom capacitive touch sensor pcb. Developed the PCB shape, mounting concept and interconnect concept while working in with EE's to optimize the design. Part numbers and tooling costs were minimized while still maintaining the ability for different configurations.b) Developed concept for multiple sized "handles" using a large extrusion machined to different configurations.c) Worked with team to develop all of the covers needed for the transport conveyor system.d) Developed custom injection molded part for a cost effective solution to a drain line hook-up issue..Dec 2011 - Moved to to Sustaining Engineering operation in Manufacturing to bring design experience to the troubleshooting of legacy designs.a) Worked on dozens of legacy related issues that affected manufacturing.b) Worked on CAPA's as needed.c) Worked extensively with associates on the manufacturing floor.Hired July, 2008: Centrifuge Mechanical Design GroupFirst Mechanical Engineer hired in Indianapolis to transition centrifuge engineering from Palo Alto, Ca., to Indianapolis. Travelled extensively to Palo Alto to transition the mechanical engineering knowledge from the engineers.After the centrifuge operation was moved to Indianapolis, my job was to concentrate on fixing legacy problems.This included:a) Redesigning the lid of a 130,000rpm rotor to eliminate an o-ring escaping problem.b) Redesigning the vacuum release system for the turbomolecular pump (TMP) on our ultra high end centrifuges to improve reliability of the TMP and reduce the time to release vacuum.
