Led team of 35 MDs, PhDs, and other scientists. Remit spanned entire drug development process, from Discovery through Phase 3 for solid organ cancers, blood cancers, and immunology-related programs. Primary remit was drug development, but we made significant contributions as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for clinical teams, medical affairs, business development, patient advocacy, and the commercial organization. • Executed transformational change that increased productivity, reduced costs, and took advantage of new technology and workflows. Moved stakeholders away from use of high-cost, low yield, biomarkers in late-stage trials, to the use of high plex platforms early that served to narrow a program’s biomarker focus in Ph2/3 to low cost, clinically feasible assays on-ramped for companion diagnostic development.• Recruited 8 academic KOLs from key institutions, augmenting group’s expertise and stature, enabling embedment across TM, medical, clinical, development, business and commercial matrixed teams, de-risking biomarker and companion diagnostics by bringing real-life, hospital-site feasibility considerations to the table and establishing pharma-to-site relationships.• Integrated 6 labs across 3 sites (Princeton, NJ; Cambridge, MA; Bangalore, India) improving efficiency by streamlining processes and enabling cross site collaboration.• Built CAP/CLIA lab from scratch as Medical Director, leading and brokering cross functional dependencies between IT, regulatory, facilities, enabling to perform assays in house (pathology, IHC, and molecular). • Built imaging infrastructure whereby every glass slide from every specimen digitized and archived in a central image repository with extensive metadata, allowing proprietary AI-based algorithm development to develope image-based biomarkers.• Authored and implemented tissue acquisition policy across the matrix via white paper and video instructional unit.

    • My experience as an academic physicianwas divided into clinical service work, administration, teaching, and research, which included drug development through ISRs and grants. After a general surgery internship, I completed 2 years of anatomic pathology, 2 years of clinical pathology, a hematopathology fellowship and a hematopathology research post-doc before beginning as an attending physician at the assistant professor level.• My clinical service work entailed running a large diagnostic service and leading several large diagnostic labs (general pathology, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry [IHC] and cytogenetics). ~50 people reported into me. For a given case, at our large, academic, tertiary hospital, we utilized all necessary modalities to provide a WHO diagnosis (microscopy, immunophenotype, cytogenetics, PCR, next gen sequencing). My leadership brought numerous technical and procedural innovations like the routine inclusion of molecular assays; I moved our service from issuing numerous reports, requiring collation and interpretation, to a single synoptic WHO diagnostic report, enabling diagnostic clarity to ensure the correct treatment would be made available to each patient.• My administrative responsibilities entailed being CAP/CLIA lab director, service director and fellowship director. I was responsible for numerous regulatory audits, including from CAP, the ACGME, and NY State. I oversaw the selection, purchase and onboarding of numerous diagnostic systems. Maintained an extensive biorepository (Tissue Bank).• In addition to speaking at congresses and physician/healthcare personnel training courses, and the ongoing training of residents, fellows and junior faculty, I designed curricula for and taught numerous medical school and immunology grad school courses.• My research can broadly be divided into multiple myeloma, lymphoma, gene therapy, and AIDS-cancers/public health, running the gamut from basic animal studies to clinical trials in humans.
