I have extensive experience in civilian and military publishing. I’ve been a newspaper executive for over 15 years, including management positions with major newspaper organizations including Freedom Communications, Halifax Media Group, Fayetteville Publishing Co. and now GateHouse Media.During the last 3.5 year I've assembled a first class management team and together we've reshaped North Carolina's oldest newspaper into a multimedia powerhouse. I developed strategic partnerships with industry leading technology companies that helped us lay new foundations for future growth. In late 2014 we launched a digital marketing agency and retooled our sales staff into a digital first operation. Those efforts have produced consistent and dramatic double digit revenue growth.We re-envisioned our approach to events from the ground up. Together we identified and launched new events in the Fayetteville market. This has proven to be another successful growth initiative that aligns perfectly with our role in the community. We placed the emphasis on quality experiences for targeted audiences and last year we had over 10,000 attend our events. The addition of events helped us acquire a significant number of new businesses, create sizable revenues and enjoyed healthy margins.I'm passionate about the newspaper industry and believe the future is bright. While we can't control the way people consume information, we can use our experienced and trusted franchises to uncover new opportunities for future generations.

I'm the sales leader for the Sun Journal, Havelock News and Windsock. In my current position I spend the majority of my time equiping and coaching my sales team to be successful in a very competitive media marketplace. I also work with our leadership team to build our annual budget, set sales goals and development products and sales promotions to ensure we reach those goals.
