As a key driver of Assurant's Global Technology Strategy, my role spans from conceptualizing ideas to leading their execution. My responsibilities include:Strategy Development: Crafting critical elements of the Global Technology Strategy, focusing on processes and operating models tailored for Assurant's unique needs.Opportunity Analysis: Identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing business and technology opportunities that are in line with our Technology Strategy.High-Level Advocacy: Presenting and advocating for significant business technology initiatives to the COO/CFO, including comprehensive risk assessments and cost-benefit analyses.Roadmap Design: Developing dynamic business technology roadmaps, detailing the progression of the Technology Strategy in alignment with specific business units and the overall organization.Standards Management: Overseeing the Technology Standards Program, ensuring a systematic approach to the lifecycle management of technology standards, from introduction to sunset, including managing exceptions.Governance Facilitation: Leading the Architecture Governance Board, which encompasses the Technology Standards Review and the Architecture Review Board. This role involves reviewing major technology projects, assessing risks, and providing strategic recommendations.

I was brought aboard Interactive Portfolio Solutions to help lead the IT team and the overall company in its quest for growth. We are a SaaS provider in the Financial Services space, serving institutional investors and wealth managers with a focus on fixed-income security reporting and analytics. Our focus is to continue to add value to the end product through additional features in our software product, along with broadening our services within the financial markets arena.

I lead the software development practice at Acosta. My teams deliver web, client-server, and BI applications to both internal customers as well as external clients and customers. We focus on timely, high-quality, on-budget delivery of applications that meet business demands. Additionally, my Architecture team works closely with business and IT leadership to find innovative solutions to emerging business challenges.Our shop leverages a number of technologies, including Microsoft .NET and SQL Server, Java, Oracle (database and EBS), Cognos, web protocols, and numerous supporting frameworks.

At Nelnet I led a staff of 72 associates, including Managers, Software Engineers, Technical Analysts, and Configuration Engineers, across four geographic locations. My teams included distributed application development, AS/400 development, EDI, and Architecture. The software we developed originated over $100MM in student loans annually and serviced over $26B in student loan assets.From a technology perspective, I led the transition from ASP / VBScript to .NET / C# on the distributed application team. My AS/400 teams developed using both RPG IV directly as well as the SYNON CASE tool. In addition to my direct management responsibilities I also facilitated the Nelnet Leadership Development Forum, the primary leadership development program for senior Nelnet talent leaders. With the other facilitators, we grew the Leadership Development Forum from a single-location, 30 person session to a 150 attendee program across three locations.
