About Scott Farley

As the Founder and Principal Consultant of Willow Labs and the Head of Research & Development at Xyloplan, I am dedicated to transforming wildfire risk assessment through the application of advanced geospatial data and innovative statistical analysis. At Willow Labs, I lead the development of custom wildfire risk assessments and powerful statistical analyses focusing on the intersection of risk, vulnerability, and equity, producing insightful data visualizations and comprehensive reports that address complex problems for local governments tackling the wildfire crisis. In my role at Xyloplan, I build industry-leading tools for fire departments, communities, and insurers, building a team focused on applying cutting-edge machine-learning to the problem of the optimal allocation wildifire mitigation projects. My journey is fueled by firsthand experience as a Wildland Firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service, where I engaged in wildfire suppression across the Western United States and developed a deeper understanding of wildfire behavior and response strategy and tactics. My vision is that with high-resolution data, advanced algorithms, and compelling storytelling, we can build more resilient communities capable of withstanding the wildfires of the 21st century. I aspire to lead the best technical teams in providing the most comprehensive and most accurate risk assessments, enhancing community safety and facilitating informed, data-driven decision-making.
