 Manage a diverse global team of engineers for the development of high voltage fuses that will be used for on-board applications in electric vehicles. Work closely with our sales and application engineers to support customers with specific engineering requests and to help develop compliance matrices to meet their requirements. Collaborate with our simulation and reliability team to develop lifetime reliability models for customer specific drive cycles or charging profiles based on thermal simulation to provide confidence in designing in our fuse. Face to face collaboration with key OEM customers to promote our product portfolio and to lend support where needed for the sales team.

Senior Design Engineer – High Voltage Electric Vehicle Fuse, (December 2020 – Present) Lead design and implementation of next generation 1000 volt DC fuse, purpose built for on-board electric vehicle applications.  Responsible for fuse element design, thermal analysis, product specifications, test procedure, shipping hardware/components, and overall schedule and budget Design to auto grade standards, including but not limited to ISO8820, JASO D622, and UL248-20. Project objectives include mechanical shock and vibration to increase product longevity, high breaking capacity and open state resistance for maximum short circuit protection, thermal shock resistant for reliable cycling performance, and environmental considerations include temperature, humidity, and resistance to chemicals Member of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC): Committee comprised on industry fuse leaders to help define international standards for high voltage fuses which reviews these standards quarterly to monthly (Sept 2017- present).Lead Design & Project Manager – High Voltage Fuses, (November 2013 – November 2019) Led new product development projects from launch to release Interfaced with customers to help identify fuse requirements or potential new design opportunities Optimized existing products to improve performance and reduce costs

Design and analysis of new product development for Case IH branded tillage equipment. Lead team of four engineers to design and develop industry’s top disk harrow. Project objectives include design verification based on combination of engineering calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) correlation of normal operation load cases, cost tracking based on preliminary design principles to develop cost-benefit comparison to current generation disk harrow, reliability growth testing to justify the proper life cycle of the new product, and creation of engineering bills of material and prints for production intent. Collaboration with the manufacturing engineering department to develop cost effective design techniques, provide proper dimension schematics to build tooling that ensures products will pass quality control inspections, and design packages that are manufacturing friendly. Reliability growth testing which includes high frequency lab cycle tests to validate proper wear characteristics of high load or high cycle areas, strain gauge implementation to verify FEA results, and field testing to reach a determined number of hours and acres based on several factors including new product content, time until release of product, and other risk factors.

Managed $1.3 M Pulp Recovery Project for a valued customer. Involved process design, initial quote, procurement of equipment, and final installation of system. Responsible for equipment design and process management, utilizing a cross-functional network to optimize the product/process development. Designed heavy mechanical citrus processing equipment for a global customer base with emphasis on extended life cycle and reduced maintenance costs. Implemented an automation and cleanup system for Citrus Products of Belize to develop a new international customer. Designed aseptic stem and plug assembly for an aseptic tee valve that is now used in the international citrus business. Awarded Belk-Hait Technical Teamwork Award for contributions on an Aseptic Packaging Project which recognizes team excellence in technology and innovation and the impact it had on the company
