Civil Affairs Operations Officer
Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Civil Military Operations Center Nangarhar Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT). Managed civil affairs organizations and liaised with PRT Commander, government contractors, indigenous people, cultural advisors, district civil authorities, and other key Nangarhar Provincial leaders of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA) in order to increase counter insurgency and decrease the impact of kinetic military operations on the populace during shifting time of social transition.INFORMATION COLLECTION AND REPORTING: Collected and analyzed information using data collection systems and statistical analysis; prepared technical management reports on the subject of civil affairs and operations between PRT, GIRoA, and nine District Support Teams (DSTs).PERSONNEL SUPERVISION AND TRAINING: Managed a five-person Provincial Civil Affairs team and nine District Support Teams. Monitored and ensured teams well-being and job performance. Coordinated and mentored various departments of GIRoA, including 22 district sub-governors and 9 key provincial directors. Managed 13 PRT linguists, developing weekly schedules, submitting timesheets, resolving any payroll discrepancies, and tutoring in the English language. Accountable for $20K in specialized linguist equipment.RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: Maintained inventory of $100K in electronic equipment, vehicles, and other capital resources, executing weekly inspection and inventory of all materials. Maintained 100% accuracy. Tracked inventory status and produced weekly reports to the PRT’s leadership and higher military echelons.
