Served as liaison for the Briefing and Displays Systems (BDS) design, construction, move, and transition phases into the tenant occupancy phase. Served as liaison between tenants and senior PENREN senior leadership for BDS related issues. Managed and directed the senior members of the Client Management IPTs in regards to BDS infrastructure requirements. Ensured that major program actions, such as planning, pricing (budgeting), and financial management, quality of installation, scheduling formulation and execution, progress reporting, CM documentation, and AV vendor support were accurately achieved. Responsible for completion of the Tenant Fit-Out (TFO) process for Wedges 3-5 OSD/WHS/NGB tenants by identifying all their BDS design requirements to include all required Audio Visual (AV) infrastructure. Ensured that the Engineering Design Packages (EDPs) included accurate costs and approved BDS standards. Ensured each EDP was approved by the Pentagon Renovation Review Board with only minor changes. Completed and issued all Statements of Work (SOW) to AV vendors for the originally designed relocations of Wedges 3-5 OSD/WHS/NGB BDS new installations, upgrades, and relocations. Reviewed the construction process to ensure that tenants’ approved supporting AV infrastructure was accurately installed. After construction completion, relocated all Wedges 3-5 OSD/WHS/NGB BDS tenant requirements to include upgrades and new installations. Ensured that all Wedges 3-5 OSD/WHS/NGB tenant moves resulted in no major issues and/or increases in ITS costs. Completed and issued all final BDS Configuration Management (CM) documentation to the Wedges 3-5 OSD/WHS/NGB tenants. Maintained BDS team administrative support documents for all ITS Wedges 3-5 tenants’ teams.

Responsible for operating and maintaining Windows servers, Cisco catalyst switches, and Foundary switches in both a production and test environment. Windows servers responsibilities involved building Windows 2003 enterprise servers, operating Symantec anti-virus and intruder alerts, updating security patches, monitoring system operations, installing hardware upgrades and parts replacement, and maintaining the infrastructure of the server room (servers racks, cabling, and KVM-Over-IP connections). Cisco catalyst switches responsibilities include installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Cisco 4507, 2950, 2960, 3550, 3560, and 500 catalyst switches. Foundary switch responsibilities include installing, configuring Server Load Balancing (SLB), Virtual IP addresses (VIPs), and associating real server with a virtual server by binding ports on the real servers with ports on the virtual server, and maintaining the Server Iron SI-GT-CGC16-SSL switches. Also responsible for the planning, design, and systems analysis / implementation for the EIP network BRAC move involving the following tasks: designing new rack elevations, designing a complete cabling and floor plan, designing an IP network and fiber fabric SAN diagram, determining resources needed for the new site and tracking those procurements, developing a move plan which minimizes production downtime, creating detailed cabling cutsheets which determine switch port and patch cord requirements, created visual diagrams which identify VLAN port configurations, maintain the IP address database along with an IP address conversion table that converts current IP addresses to the new site’s IP addresses, and maintains detail equipment inventories for all EIP equipment.

Responsible for monitoring the installation of passive cabling in support of the Navy Resource and Situation Awareness Center (RSAC), Marine Corps RSAC, and the Navy and Marine Corps Senior Executives. This involved data and voice communications at all levels of security and their supporting electrical requirements. This position involved extensive coordination with the Navy, Marine Corps, and PENREN engineers to ensure that all requirements were captured, constructed, and activated. Also assisted with the planning, design, and systems analysis/implementation for the IT systems supporting the tenants. Requirements include performing functional analysis of tenant requirements; utilizing construction drawings to develop and design detailed wiring diagrams of all data, voice, RF, and video systems; systems integration, engineering, and coordination of all circuits within several dedicated telecommunication closets; and on-site engineering during the installation, circuit cutover, testing, and quality assurance phases of the project.

Network Engineer at a Network Operations Center supporting the Army National Guard's GuardNet. The GuardNet consists of an ATM backbone using Marconi ATM switches and 7200/7500 Cisco routers. The ATM backbone connects various ethernet LANs using ATM LAN emulation. The GuardNet transports data, audio, and video streaming using OSPF routing and IP transport packets over ATM. Internet services are provided through DISA's Non-secure Internet Protocol Routing Network (NIPRNET) using BGP routing and IP transport packets over ATM. Tools used to monitor the network are Netcool OMNIbus, Cisco Works, HP OpenView, and IP Utilities. Documented trouble tickets and projects using Remedy action request system. Performed backups of all router and switch configurations using text scripts and telnet access. Worked closely with on site personnel while troubleshooting opened tickets. Other network support provided is Microsoft NT server/workstation administration and dial-in access using Shiva LanRover and Access switches. Also established step-by-step procedures used to assist Army National Guards with monitoring GuardNet operations.
